Looking For a Delicious Herbal Tea? I’ve Found One

I’m not a coffee drinker. Never have been. It makes me race and jitter and get all clammy and stressed, all things I actively try to avoid on a daily basis. I do, however, love tea. The ritual of having a warming, soothing hot drink (especially in these months of indecisive weather patterns) is heaven to me. Sitting down, slowly sipping away and kick-starting my day calmly, nicely, quietly.

This about sums up my day (but replace the drawing rainbows part with writing about things I love and the dancing freely bit with yoga. I’m a shocking dancer!)…

So back to the tea. I’ve been asked a few times about what herbal teas I recommend. I’d always suggested Pukka, because they’re incredibly tasty, but I’ve recently come across another brand called Higher Living , which is great for specialised blends like Ginger Kick, Vitality and Evening.

Higher Living is an English-based company that has been making specialised tea blends for over 45 years. They tick all the boxes including 100% certified organic, contain only natural herbs, and, for the most part are caffeine free (the Vitality blend contains caffeine). They’re also packed with gorgeous flavours that you can actually taste and are really reasonable, each box is only $3.69 and for that you get 15 bags. Want to track them down? Just take a look down the tea aisle at Woolies and they should be there. If not, check the organic/health aisle instead.

My pick is the Ginger Kick (I love the warm spiciness of this tea) and the Vitality, which contains orange peel, green mate (pronounced mat-ay), warm all-spice and cinnamon. This one is a winner if you get the 3pm sugar craving and need something to curb it. It will give you that same boost without the slump at the end.

So, if you’re looking for a delicious herbal tea, I think I’ve just found it.

I’ve tried Higher Living Teas and absolutely love the Ginger Kick and Cool Mint. I took these two boxes with me when I was travelling around Europe and if ever myself or my partner were a little unwell, or even homesick, these were the perfect remedies. It’s also a saviour on the flight where all you can get is black tea.
I didn’t even know that there were other flavours. Exciting! I can’t wait to try as many as I can get my hands on!
As always… Thanks for sharing Yaz!:-) Love your work!

I love the Qi blends – the detox and the antioxidant ones in particular. I often grab the Higher Living Evening one in Woolies too. I am most addicted to Nerada Organics Lemon & Ginger tea though!

I’ve tried the Cool Mint, Vitality and Very Berry from the Higher Living Tea range and love them all. Vitality is probably my fave – even the name makes you feel good as you put it in your tea cup. Feeling inspired to give the others a whirl, especially Ginger Kick! I rely on my herbal teas throughout the day at work. I have around15 different flavours stacked behind my laptop (I’m sure my colleagues think I’m nuts) from all different brands including Qi, Nerada, Vitality. Also Roobis and Dandelion (not sure what brands these are). Lately on the weekends I’ve been brewing stinging nettle tea t home after reading good things. So far so good.
