Ten Second Beauty Trick: Cold Water Blast

Sometimes small, subtle changes can make the biggest difference to your overall health. Case in point: my secret little skin-glowing trick that takes, on average, 10 seconds.

At the end of your lovely warm shower, once you’ve washed away your shampoo and conditioner, rinsed your body wash and cleansed your skin, turn the tap to cold. Freezing cold. And wait…wait…wait…OK, turn it off.

This tricky little beauty tip instantly gets the circulation pumping in your body, giving your skin an instant pick-me-up and gorgeous glow. Basically, it’s a cheat’s way to detoxing as it forces circulation to increase, shifting toxins around the body and getting the blood pumping in all the right places.

    I love to body brush, then rub a natural body scrub all over before rinsing it off. I feel divine and so silky afterwards. I might try the cool blast of water next time 🙂

    Couldn’t agree more! Long been a fan of the cold blast! especially for hair to close up the follicles after the hot water. Just damn hard to do in winter… 😉

    cold water not only gives you a health boost but ends depression and anxiety and low mood. it burns fat and increases your brown fat which is metabolically active. it gives your skin a glow and helps flush out toxins. your blood starts pumping as it comes to the surface of your body tissues. finally it also works wonders for your immune system which receives a solid kick which restarts it. you feel happy as a hippo in mud and find yourself invigorated and lively.
